This has been lying on my compute for a while, so I thought it was time I added it. It the tutorial for my icon.

Kelly Clarkson tutorial
1- Crop and prepare your base. I sharpened mine once and blurred the skin a little.
2- Duplicate your base twice. Set the first duplicate to screen 50% opacity and the second duplicate to soft light 100% opacity.(these values may change depending on your image)
3- Next create a selective colour layer and use the following settings:
Reds: 0/ 0/ -100/ 0
Yellows: 100/ 0/ -100/ 0
Whites: 100/ 0/ 0/ -50
Neutrals: 100/ 0/ 0/ 10
Blacks: 0/ 100/ 0/ 100
4- Next create a gradient. Set you case colour to a red (I used #790000) and then select the colour to transparent gradient like this:
Drag a gradient from the top left corner to the bottom right corner and set that layer to lighten.
5- Create a new hue saturation layer and set the saturation on the master palette to 15.
6- Then create a brightness contrast layer and set the contrast to 10.
7- What you can next do is merge all you layers, then duplicate that layer. Make a circle selection on that layer and cut. Then using what is left of the layer do a radial blur using the spin setting and set it to 38. Press okay then set that layer to mulitply or darken. But this step is optional, I used it for the icon above.
